FRASCA

In the words of my father, of blessed memory, "that was an FDE (a fine dining experience)."
Start to finish, a spectacular dinner.
Sam is an intern there, and so far, he mostly shells peas and such.  He hasn't applied heat to anything at all yet.  But we did enjoy some of those peas!
Robin, Sam and Kenny started with a salumi platter--house-cured meats.  No photo.
Then we had something called frico caldo--imagine the best latkes with cheese and alot of olive oil, topped with chopped garlic and some kind of vinegar.  Awesome!
Then a whole bunch of other courses.
Really great haricots verts with fried scallions.  The one on the left without the bacon....

Carpaccio

Bacon makes the men in my family SO happy!

Special risotto from the chef

Great halibut--notice the peas and the pea puree
Definitely a top five meal!  Good work Sam, picking a fantastic place for your internship.
Tomorrow, back to the peas and fava beans....

Very, very, very full.....good night.
